Quilting Retreats

ould you and your friends like to escape from the world and indulge yourself in a whole week of sewing together? If so then this quilter’s retreat is for you. You will be offered a warm welcome and a relaxing and peaceful holiday in the tranquillity of the French countryside.

The old stone farmhouse, Chez Baptiste, was built in the 1700’s and the thick walls ensure that all summer long the house provides a cool place to sit and sew; you can also sit in the shade of a fig tree or a cherry tree in the large garden. After a morning spent sewing and a nice long lunch you can cool off in the pool and soak up some sunshine.

Costs

The cost for the Quilter’s Retreat will be approximately £200 per person per week; this will vary depending on the time of year and the number of people sharing. This is on a self-catering basis, however breakfast and/or an evening meal could be provided if pre-arranged.

Quilting

Equipment will be provided (two sewing machines, cutting mats, basic sewing necessities, rotary cutters, rulers, a library of quilting books and magazines for inspiration). Guests are expected to bring their own fabric/projects.

Tuition is not on offer; however Pat can offer help and advice for beginners.

Getting here

The flight is not included in the price. Our nearest airport is Toulouse, approximately 1 hour 15 min, other airports that are available are Bergerac, Bordeaux and Pau (all approximately 2-3 hours away) and flights are available from Gatwick, Stansted, Bristol and other regional airports. It is advisable to take out travel insurance and bring your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) with you. Car hire is available at the airport but transfers can be arranged (at additional cost) if guests prefer not to drive.

Dates available

There are weeks available in May, June, July and September.

Please contact me with your preferred dates of travel; there can be some flexibility with arrival days due to availability of flights.

A deposit of £50 per person will secure your reservation.
